“Here I am, Lord”: a celebration of faith and vocation
A year after beginning this new stage of her religious life, Sr Muad Essah Benyi has renewed her vows, giving thanks for a journey shaped by faith, Hospitality, service and trust in God.
On 15 August 2026, Sr Muad Essah Benyi celebrated her first renewal of religious vows in Ciempozuelos, Spain, a deeply significant moment in her vocational journey as a Sister Hospitaller of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
She renewed her vows during the morning prayer of Lauds alongside Sr Prisca Rindra and Sr Odette Daavi, from the French Province, in the hands of Sr Natividad Urdin Pérez, Superior of the community, delegated by Sr Idilia Maria Carneiro, Superior General.
The Juniorate prepared and animated the prayer, bringing together psalms, the Word of God, writings of St Benedict Menni and songs in English, French and Spanish. In an atmosphere of prayer, silence and reflection, the three Sisters once again expressed their commitment to follow Christ through a life of consecration and Hospitality.
A year walking with Jesus the Good Samaritan
For Sr Muad, this first renewal was also an opportunity to look back with gratitude on everything she has experienced during the past year.
“This one year has been a year of walking with Jesus the Good Samaritan in Hospitality, in total self-giving and service.”
She describes each experience of charity and service as an opportunity to grow closer to the sentiments of the Heart of Jesus: compassion, love and patience.
Throughout this journey, she has discovered more deeply the meaning of the vocation she has received and the importance of encountering God in those she is called to serve, particularly people experiencing illness and suffering.
Gratitude for those who accompany the journey
Sr Muad also expressed her gratitude to the Congregation and to all those who have accompanied her throughout this first year: her Superiors, formator, Sisters in community, family and everyone whose prayers, encouragement and support have strengthened her vocation.
Her words highlight something fundamental about Hospitaller religious life: while vocation begins with a personal call, it grows and is lived within a community.
As she shared:
“Your love, prayers and support have been a constant source of strength.”
Continuing the journey with joy and trust
At the heart of the celebration was another “Yes” — not simply a repetition of the first, but one enriched by everything lived and discovered during the past year.
Sr Muad now continues her journey with a desire to remain joyful, persevering, humble and faithful, and to make God’s merciful love present through her life and service.
In her own words, she prays for the strength:
“To love and serve without counting the cost, and be a living image of His love.”
