For this training in Elmina (Ghana), there are 27 Sisters coming from Cameroon, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Congo, Mozambique, Togo, Portugal, and England. From these, 3 of them are part of the CHAF Committee; 2 are Provincial Superiors, Sr Lourdes (from England), and Sr Silvia, (from Portugal); and 4 speakers: Fr Basil Aka de Don Orion, Sr Laurinda Faria, Sr Conchita Ochotorena, and Sr Nicole Mayinga Muwengue.
During the opening meeting, the Congregation’s General Superior, Sr Anabela Carneiro, joined online to welcome the participants. During her speech, she thanked the Sisters from the various countries for their attendance, and the community at Ghana for hosting the event. Moreover, she shared words of hope for a revitalised structuration period.
The following day, Sisters were divided into groups to discuss about “intercultural spirituality”, together with Fr Basil Aka. Furthermore, Sr Nicole Mayinga shared a presentation about the biblical foundation of compassion and hospitality. She also referred to the figures of Abraham and the Good Samaritan as examples during her dissertation.
Lastly, yesterday’s session was centred around Our founder’s spiritual walk, led by Sr Laurinda. Moreover, they also covered Spirituality in renovated constitutions, by Sr Conchita, which was discussed and shared among the attendees.
