On the occasion of the celebration of the 1st Assembly of Sisters Hospitallers in England as a Delegation, we would like to share with you all the details of this important event

The I Assembly of the Sisters Hospitallers’ Delegation will be held from the 7th to the 12th of December, at St Augustine’s Centre in Addlestone, Surrey. This important event, which will bring together sisters and collaborators, will define the future of the delegation for the next 6 years, so today we would like to share all the essential information so that you can know and understand the importance of this congregational event.

This event is completely aligned with the General Chapter that our congregation celebrated from 24 April to 26 May 2024 and that marked the nuclear lines on what is going to work in this assembly of the delegation.

The event brings together 14 sisters from all the centres of the delegation and 15 collaborators, representing the centres and the management team. All the participants have carried out a previous work of discernment to establish the points to be dealt with and the objectives to be focused on for the future of the congregation, each one from her own reality.

The work of this assembly will focus on several points: first of all, a summary will be made of what has been done in recent years (the changes in the delegation, the successes and the points to be improved). After this analysis of the situation, the future objectives on which the congregation should focus will be established.

Be clothed in compassion (Col. 3:12)

The Motto of the I Assembly

Background to the assembly: General Chapter

The General Chapter is the body that represents the whole Congregation and exercises collegial authority in matters concerning its life and mission. It is a paschal event, an event of charismatic renewal and apostolic projection that we must live in a spirit of faith and fraternity seeking, in an attitude of discernment, what is pleasing to the Lord.
The chapter is the place of prayerful obedience to the Holy Spirit in the search for the greater good of the Congregation in the Church. We collaborate actively and responsibly with an attitude of docility to the Spirit, fostering an atmosphere of intense prayer and true conversion.
The General Chapter is held every six years. It is the responsibility of the Superior General to determine, with the consent of her councilors, the issues to be discussed, the time and place of the meeting, in accordance with the norms of the Directory. The importance of this event requires careful preparation, which must be given the necessary time.
