At St Augustine’s Care Home in Addlestone, residents, sisters and staff recently came together to celebrate the Feast of Saint Benedict Menni, Founder of the Sisters Hospitallers.
The day was marked by a warm and prayerful atmosphere, offering time to remember the life and example of Saint Benedict Menni, whose legacy of compassionate service continues to shape the mission of our homes today.
The celebration began with Holy Mass, where those present gathered in thanksgiving and reflection. It was a special moment to renew the values that remain at the heart of the Sisters Hospitallers: dignity, hospitality and loving care for each person.
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a shared meal, bringing residents and colleagues together in a joyful setting. These moments around the table are an important part of life at St Augustine’s, creating opportunities for conversation, connection and celebration.
Events such as this enrich daily life within the Home and help strengthen the sense of belonging that makes St Augustine’s such a welcoming community. The Feast of Saint Benedict Menni is always a valued occasion within the Sisters Hospitallers family. In Addlestone, it was celebrated with gratitude, unity and the spirit of hospitality that continues to inspire our work each day.
