At St Teresa’s Care Home in London, the Feast of Saint Benedict Menni was celebrated with joy, gratitude and a strong sense of community.
This special day offered an opportunity for residents, sisters, staff and friends of the Home to come together and honour the life and legacy of the Founder of the Sisters Hospitallers, whose vision of compassionate and dignified care continues to inspire our mission today.
The celebration began with Holy Mass, a moment of prayer and thanksgiving in which those present gave thanks for the gift of hospitality and remembered the values that Saint Benedict Menni entrusted to the Congregation: care for the most vulnerable, love in action and service rooted in dignity.
Following the Mass, everyone gathered to enjoy a shared lunch, creating a warm and festive atmosphere throughout the Home. Meals shared together are always meaningful moments, and this celebration offered another opportunity to strengthen relationships, enjoy conversation and mark the occasion as one community.
For residents, events such as these bring joy, connection and a sense of belonging. They also reflect the spirit of St Teresa’s Care Home, where daily life is shaped by compassion, respect and opportunities to celebrate together.
The Feast of Saint Benedict Menni remains an important date in the Sisters Hospitallers calendar. It is a time to remember our roots, renew our mission and continue building places where care feels like home. At St Teresa’s, the day was lived exactly in that spirit: with faith, togetherness and hospitality.
