This past Saturday, the gardens of Footherley Hall in Shenstone were alive with colour, music, and laughter, as residents, families, friends, and supporters came together for our annual Summer Fête—a cherished tradition in support of our mission.

Bathed in sunshine and surrounded by the peaceful beauty of our gardens, visitors enjoyed an afternoon full of heart, community, and purpose. From the moment guests arrived, there was a warm buzz of excitement—this was more than just a summer gathering; it was a celebration of care, joy, and togetherness.

A wonderful array of stalls lined the garden paths, offering something for everyone. Delicious homemade cakes tempted the sweet-toothed, while the bric-a-brac and jewellery stands offered unique treasures and handcrafted delights. Children delighted in the book and toy stalls, while garden lovers found joy at the plant stand, brimming with blooms and greenery.

The tombolas—both bottle and general—were popular with guests of all ages, adding fun and anticipation throughout the day.

Special Highlights

The excitement built toward the Grand Raffle, with the top prize—an outdoor pizza oven—drawing great interest and smiles from lucky winners. Children (and adults alike!) were thrilled to meet a miniature pony and a selection of adorable farm animals. Meanwhile, face painting and glitter tattoos added a splash of sparkle for our younger visitors.

A fun golf challenge brought out the competitive spirit, all in good cheer, while the Tuneless Choir and talented performer Molly provided a joyful soundtrack to the day with live music that got feet tapping and hearts singing.

Delicious Treats

No summer fête would be complete without delicious refreshments—and Footherley Hall delivered in abundance. From a sizzling barbecue and a well-stocked bar to strawberries & cream, an old-fashioned ice cream van, and classic tea and coffee, there was plenty to enjoy while soaking in the summer sunshine.

Supporting a Meaningful Mission

While the day was filled with fun and festivity, it was also a vital opportunity to support the important work of Sisters Hospitallers. The funds raised will go directly towards enhancing the care and quality of life for our residents—helping us to continue delivering compassionate, person-centred support.

A heartfelt thank you to all who made the day so special: our dedicated staff and volunteers, stallholders, entertainers, donors, and every single guest who joined us. Your presence and generosity help us keep the spirit of hospitality alive and thriving.

We look forward to welcoming you again next year for another unforgettable day in support of a truly great cause.
