As part of the Canonical Visit to the English Delegation, the Sisters Hospitallers community at Footherley Hall Care Home in Shenstone has welcomed this important moment as a time of reflection, encounter and renewal.
Canonical Visits are a significant moment in the life of the Congregation, offering an opportunity to reawaken fidelity to the charism and spirit of our Founders, to strengthen bonds of communion and to encourage the apostolic service that shapes daily life in each community.
During these days at Footherley Hall, the sisters have shared moments of prayer, dialogue and reflection, creating space to listen, to deepen their vocation and to continue walking together in the mission of hospitality.
We ask the Spirit of Jesus to prepare our hearts for listening, openness and availability to His will, for each sister of the English Delegation. As a Congregation, we are called and committed to clothe ourselves with compassion, drawing close to the open Heart of Jesus.
At Footherley Hall, this mission is lived each day through care, dignity and attention to each resident, creating a home where people feel welcomed, valued and accompanied. The Canonical Visit offers an opportunity to recognise and strengthen this daily commitment.
This time of renewal invites us to continue living our vocation with hope, reflecting this in our attitudes, in our relationships and in our daily service to others. Christ is the source of new life that sustains and renews our mission.
With Mary, we learn to serve with simplicity and to be bearers of peace and hospitality in our communities and in the world.
