At Sisters Hospitallers, care is never carried out in isolation. It is sustained by relationships, strengthened through collaboration and rooted in an unwavering commitment to human dignity. Recent visits to St Benito Menni Hospital in Dompoase have been a powerful expression of that living mission.
University students from the Will of God Foundation, based in Obuasi and formed by members from different faith backgrounds, visited the mental health unit to provide practical assistance. Their donations included food items, medicines, assorted drinks and financial support, contributing meaningfully to the ongoing care of vulnerable individuals.
They were joined by members of the Christian Mothers and Daughters’ Association from St John the Evangelist Parish in Ashanti Bekwai. As part of their humanitarian outreach, they offered food, clothing and financial contributions. The visit was enriched by the sharing of Marian songs, creating a hopeful and uplifting atmosphere for patients and staff alike.
These gestures reflect more than generosity. They demonstrate a shared understanding that care for people experiencing mental health challenges is a collective responsibility. The presence of volunteers, community members and hospital staff gathered together reinforced the importance of collaboration, dignity and accompaniment.
At St Benito Menni Hospital, the mission of Sisters Hospitallers is lived daily through partnership and community engagement. The bond between the hospital and the wider community continues to grow through acts of solidarity that affirm the inherent worth of every person.
Beyond the donated items, it was the shared time, encouragement and sense of purpose that created a meaningful and lasting impact.
