Today we celebrate the Day of the Consecrated Life, which was first celebrated by Pope St John Paul II back in 1997. The motto for this year is “The consecrated life, walking together”. Pope Francis will lead a Mass at St Peter’s Basilica today, which members of consecrated institutions will attend.
“Consecrated life is born in Church, grows, and can give evangelic fruit only in Church, in living communion with the Faithful People of God” – Pope Francis (11/12/2011).
