Sisters Hospitallers are recruiting for a Full-Time Activities Coordinator at St Teresa’s Care Home, in London.

Salary: £10.44 per hour

Shift Pattern: Days

Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week, including some weekend working.

Skills and personal characteristics needed

Reporting to the Registered Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for organising all social activities and diversional therapy within the Home, considering residents’ particular needs as appropriate.

The post holder must have previous experience working with elderly people and a detailed knowledge of working within a registered care home environment, or other health and social care settings.

  • Be the face of our Home and ensure a memorable reception experience for Staff, Visitors and Residents
  • Excellent telephone and switchboard manner
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times
  • Provide effective and efficient administrative service to support the needs of the Charity
  • Comply with all internal and external policies and standars; e.g. Department of Health, Care Quality Commission, Health and Safety Executive, CQC Code of Conduct

Typical tasks may include:

  • Liaising with care staff regarding the care of residents and particular activities that may be beneficial and stimulating
  • Contributing to the organising of outside visits and trips supporting individuals who use the service as required on the visit
  • Ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for the residents, residents’ families and friends
  • Plan activities and ensure that these are communicated to residents and staff alike
  • Assisting the Registered Care Home Manager in planning the homes’ special events
