At the Mental Health Hospital Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro in the city of Pasto, we have developed the project “Mercy that Accompanies”, an initiative born out of our commitment to providing comprehensive, humane, and respectful care to the elderly adults we serve.

The aim of this project is to create therapeutic and emotional spaces that dignify the ageing process, promoting active listening, emotional support, and continuous companionship.

Through an interdisciplinary team, we ensure not only specialised clinical care, but also a compassionate and close presence that recognises the value of each individual’s life story.

Since 1949, the Mental Health Hospital Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro, located in San Juan de Pasto, has become a cornerstone in mental healthcare across Latin America. Founded by the Sisters Hospitallers, it was the first in the region to offer specialised and compassionate care to those in greatest need, particularly individuals with mental illnesses, disabilities, and other vulnerable conditions.

True to its mission, the hospital provides holistic care based on human dignity, without discrimination based on race, culture, or social status. With a highly trained and committed team, the aim is not only clinical recovery, but also emotional and spiritual support for each patient. Its humanist-Christian approach inspires person-centred care that meets today’s challenges with quality, warmth, and a strong commitment to social justice and sustainable development.
