Today, 25 March, residents, sisters and staff gathered at Footherley Hall Care Home in Shenstone to celebrate a special Mass in honour of Our Lady of the Annunciation, one of the most significant feasts in the life of the Church.
The Annunciation reminds us of Mary’s generosity, her openness to God’s call and her willingness to say yes with trust and humility. Her example continues to inspire the mission of the Sisters Hospitallers, who seek to live hospitality each day through care, compassion and service to others, especially those who are most vulnerable.
The celebration was also a joyful opportunity to mark special moments for several sisters from the London and Shenstone communities. During this month of March, Sr Josefina, Sr Mary Ann and Sr Encarnación González celebrated either their birthday or their feast day, and the community gathered to celebrate together and give thanks for their lives, vocation and service.
Residents, staff and sisters shared this special moment together, reflecting the importance of community life, gratitude and fraternity within the Hospitaller family.
Moments like these are simple but meaningful reminders that hospitality is lived not only through our work and mission, but also through community life, celebration and shared faith.
