Let us pray together

Merciful Father who art in all the sick. May you be sanctified by the acceptance and joy of many of them, of all. May Your Kingdom of love, mercy and compassion come to each one of them and to all of us who are at their side: Sisters, Brothers, collaborators, families, volunteers. May Your will be done in the land of each centre, of each ward, of the whole hospital community. To all of us who care for them, give us the daily ration of selfless and joyful service. And forgive us for all the times we have not been tenderness, healing, mercy for them. And do not let us fall into the temptation of discouragement, of tiredness, of routine, of not wanting to be at the forefront today for all that they need. Deliver us, Lord, from all this evil. Amen.

For reflection

“How beautiful it is, my daughters, the religion (congregation) which gives to these poor little ones, loving fathers and mothers, who perhaps do more than their own fathers would do if they were alive! And what a joy it is for us, my beloved daughters, to have been favoured with such a beautiful vocation of Charity”.

Concluding prayer

Saint Benedict, Samaritan of God, in the sick and poor brother. Saint Benedict, Hospitaller of God, you become the brother of all. Saint Benedict, your faith reveals the face of God in the brother you care for. Pray for us who are, for you, the face of God. Amen.
