The meeting served to reflect on the value of hospitality in the light of the reality of people suffering from mental illness or disability.

The Sisters of the Council have committed themselves during the next six years 2024-2030 to promote the future dynamism proposed by the General Chapter, so that the Congregation may continue to strengthen and expand in a world which is increasingly in need of the Hospitaller charism.

During the XXII General Chapter, the Vicar Provincial of Portugal was elected to lead the Congregation for the next six years.

There are currently around 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia. One in 14 people over the age of 65 has dementia. This figure rises to 1 in 6 for those over 80 years of age.
